Content SummaryResults from an integrated observational and modeling study of a typical Greek temporary river are presented. The mathematical model Hydrological Simulation Program – Fortran (HSPF) was used to simulate the hydrology, sediment transport and nutrient loads of Krathis river basin. The model simulated the time response of the watershed based on geochemical and hydrologic mass balances. The model captured the seasonal variability of the flow and the concentrations of suspended solids and nutrients. Finally, the calibrated model was used to simulate the effect of climate change to the hydrology and geochemistry of Krathis river basin.en
