The aim of this thesis is to create a realistic visualization model of the distribution of air pollutants generated by ships’ activities (sailing - maneuvering - parking) in order to better identify the geographical areas with significant environmental problems. This will provide a clear picture of the concentration and dissemination of gaseous pollutants from shipping but also their environmental footprint in the region we are considering (South Aegean). The proposed graphical dispersion model will be implemented through a Gaussian dispersion model in which as input parameters will be the characteristics of the gaseous pollutant, the meteorological characteristics of the area and the geographical location of the vessel.
