A common problem faced by many areas today is the proper siting of a waste transfer station. The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate an investment with an optimal location of a waste transfer station in the Municipality of Byron using optimization algorithms with suitable mathematical transport models linear or integral programming and using Geographical Information Systems. Because the waste transfer station that the municipality of Byron has at this time is legal issues and is a temporary solution. This thesis studies the above problem and uses a combination of methods that exist in the literature for a systematic analysis with the aim of a comprehensive proposal that contributes to solving the problem.
