This thesis aims to create a new municipal and children's library for the Municipality of Chania. Specifically, the new library is located in the municipal unit of Agios Ioannis in Chania between the area of the Chania Courts and the former camp of Markopoulou. The intervention plot faces the main road Yamboudaki Street and until recently was an unused neighborhood park. Bordering the intervention area is the 8th primary school and 4th kindergarten of Chania. It is notable that there was no direct access from the school to the park and no prospect of its exploitation for school purposes. For the design of the new public library it is proposed to extend the school and integrate it with the children's library area and directly connect them. The placement of the public library in this area is intended to enrich the cultural uses and strengthen one of the city's cores namely the area of the courts and the former Markopoulou camp.
