Summary

The term Desensitization, means to make a sensitized individual insensitive or non reactive. By incorporating the word city, DESEN(C)IT(Y)ZATION, it implies the gradual desensitization of the significance of the city. In this research paper, we will study the way in which consumer activity, and where it massively takes place, (shopping malls, department stores, etc.) , has contributed and continues to contribute to the publicness of urban space, the boundary between public and private, and the process of urban design.
