Summary

The main objective of the work is to study the satisfaction of the employees of the General Hospital of Chania "Agios Georgios". The importance of this issue is documented by the contribution of the staff to the quality of the health services provided, as well as by the conditions prevailing in public hospitals due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of the work, a bibliographic review of studies and research efforts will be carried out regarding the measurement of employee satisfaction in health service organizations. Also, an effort will be made to record the effects of the current pandemic on the satisfaction of health service personnel, while an emphasis will be placed on reviewing the main factors affecting job satisfaction. The measurement of satisfaction will be carried out through a quantitative survey among the staff of GN Chania. In this context, a relevant questionnaire will be developed that will include the basic dimensions of job satisfaction (e.g. salary, additional benefits, development opportunities, extraordinary rewards related to recognition of effort, nature of work, new conditions brought about by the health crisis of the pandemic, relationship with superiors, subordinates and partners). The questionnaire will be distributed to the staff of the Medical, Nursing Administrative and Technical Service of the hospital, while the data analysis will be carried out using the MUSA (Multicriteria Satisfaction Analysis) method. The main outputs of the MUSA method include the weights of the satisfaction criteria, the average satisfaction indices, as well as a series of perceptual performance/importance and demand/improvement charts that are able to analyze staff behavior and identify strengths and weaknesses employee satisfaction.
