Summary

This dissertation reflects the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the global health crisis it caused on tourism marketing strategies, both internationally and in Greece. It presents the position of tourism in the global and our national economy, as well as the effect of the global health crisis on tourism figures. The general concepts of the research and the methodological tools are listed, with which the present study was conducted and which focused on the application of systems science in information management. The dissertation presents the economic and social effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy, the labor market and tourism in Greece and internationally. The marketing strategies proposed and implemented by the Greek and international tourism business community are described, in order to deal with the health crisis and to recover the global tourism movement. Finally, the above strategies are evaluated from the perspective of systems science and some general conclusions are formulated.
