The Diploma Thesis examines the question of the revival and enhancement of the Ottoman buildings in the city of Rhodes and in particular deals with the reuse of the Ottoman mansion of Agha Toptsoumbasi, along with the rehabilitation of its surroundings, according to the character and needs of the area. The building complex of the study area consists of the Turkish mansion (konak) with the auxiliary buildings, the kiosk with the cistern on its south side and the orchard, which includes stone arches and walls, which served to transport water from the wells. A part of the mansion today serves public services. The kiosk used to be a restaurant but is now abandoned. The aim of this diploma thesis is to include the mansion in the cultural events of the city, in order to host periodical exhibitions in the mansion. At the same time, it preserves the character of the area, in which the existing greenery plays a decisive role, adapting to it new buildings that serve daily activities for children. A complementary role is undertaken by the restoration and reopening of the kiosk as a café-restaurant aiming at a multifaceted complex for the residents and visitors of the area.
