Summary

This study explores how memories influence spatial perception and architecture. Beginning with fundamental principles of memory and perception, it examines the distinction between personal and collective memory, as well as the role of the senses in creating and recalling memories. Subsequently, architectural archetypes and their connection to memory are presented through historical and cultural examples. The study also analyzes how artists, scenographers, and architects incorporate collective memory into their work, with examples such as the Jewish Museum Berlin. In the section on personal memory, it investigates how reminiscence shapes the perception of familiar spaces, including case studies of architects designing their own homes.
