Summary

In this research project, we examine the activity of skateboarding and its role within the contemporary urban environment. The aim is to contribute to the discussion on how urban design directly influences skateboarding practices and the use of public spaces. Additionally, we explore how initial uses of these spaces can be adapted to meet the needs of individuals. This project analyzes the history of public squares, the impact of youth on public space, the origins of skateboarding, how it all began, and the current state of skatepark construction.
