Summary

In ancient Greece the vine was a symbol of culture, with Crete hosting the most historic vineyard in Europe. The tradition of viticulture continues to this day, contributing significantly to the primary sector of the country's economy. This thesis proposes the creation of a winery with three axes of operation. Production, education and hospitality with the world of wine as a connecting link. The aim is for the visitor to fully understand the production process from the cultivation of the vineyard to the final product. The intervention area is located in the south of Rethymnon with the aim of highlighting the sector in the prefecture through a building that offers the full and active experience in the production of wine. The location was chosen due to its strong relief, ideal for the natural winemaking process and the cultivation of the vine. The building is oriented to the south taking full advantage of the idyllic view towards the Libyan sea through the vineyards. The primary objective of the work is the harmonious integration of the building into the relief of the area, forming a single synthetic solution with it. At the same time, aiming for a more complete picture of the proposal special importance is also given to the design of the interior spaces of the building.
