| Content Summary | Η παρούσα εργασία εξετάζει την προκατασκευή με σύγχρονα προϊόντα βιομηχανικής ξυλείας ως μια εναλλακτική μέθοδο δόμησης, παρουσιάζει τις δυνατότητες της σε τυπικές και ειδικές κατασκευές και αναζητά πιθανές τις ευκαιρίες εφαρμογής της στην Ελλάδα. Αρχικά, το ζήτημα της προκατασκευής κατοικιών ερευνάται μέσα από την πορεία βελτιστοποίησης διαδικασιών δόμησης έως την πλήρη εργοστασιακή παραγωγή τους, εντοπίζοντας τα πλεονεκτήματα και μειονεκτήματα που την χαρακτηρίζουν και πως αυτά σκιαγραφούν τις σύγχρονες τάσεις. Το ξύλο, ως βασικό υλικό για την προκατασκευή και τη δόμηση γενικότερα, αναλύεται μέσα από τα τεχνικά, οικολογικά και αισθητικά χαρακτηριστικά του, τα προϊόντα που παράγει και τις σύγχρονες αρχιτεκτονικές εφαρμογές του. Συγκεκριμένα, μια από τις πιο πρόσφατες τεχνολογικές εξελίξεις στην βιομηχανική ξυλεία, τα πάνελ CLT, εξετάζονται ως προς τα δομικά χαρακτηριστικά και τις ιδιαίτερες αρχιτεκτονικές χρήσεις τους μέσα από καινοτόμες εφαρμογές. Χωρίς αμφιβολία όμως, η απουσία του ξύλου από την οικοδομική πρακτική της Ελλάδας προκαλεί ερωτήματα και οδηγεί στην αναζήτηση των παραγόντων εκείνων που έχουν περιορίσει την χρήση του. Ολοκληρώνοντας την παρουσίαση των γενικών σημείων ενδιαφέροντος (προκατασκευή, ξύλο, ελληνική πραγματικότητα, πάνελ CLT), συνοψίζονται τρείς ευκαιρίες εφαρμογής των παραπάνω μεθόδων στην Ελλάδα, λαμβάνοντας υπόψιν τις υφιστάμενες κατασκευαστικές πρακτικές και πως αυτές μπορούν να ωφεληθούν από την μέθοδο προκατασκευής με σύστημα CLT. | el |
| Content Summary | This paper examines prefabrication using contemporary engineered wood products as an alternative construction method Ιt shows the potential applications of this approach in both typical and specialized structures, and investigates possible opportunities for its implementation in Greece. Initially, the issue of prefabricated housing is presented through the course of optimizing construction processes up to complete factory production. It identifies the advantages and disadvantages of prefabrication, and highlights the way in which it shapes current architectural trends. Wood, as a primary material for both prefabrication and general construction, is analyzed in terms of its technical, ecological and aesthetic qualities, its derived products and their contemporary architectural applications. As CLT panels are one of the most recent technological advancements in engineered timber, their structural properties are examined through innovative architectural case studies. Nevertheless, the absence of timber in Greek construction practice, raises questions and leads to further investigation into the factors that have limited its use. Concluding the discussion of key points (prefabrication, timber, Greek context, CLT panels), three potential opportunities for implementation in Greece are summarized, while taking into account the existing construction practices and how they might benefit from CLT based prefabrication methods. | el |
