This study examines the impact of major sporting events, such as the Olympic Games and Formula 1 Grand Prix, on the cities that host them. The research focuses on analyzing the economic, tourism-related and social effects of these events, as well as the changes they bring to the urban infrastructure and development. It compares case studies such as Athens (2004) and Barcelona (1992), highlighting both the positive and negative outcomes of hosting the Olympic Games in these two cities. At the same time, it focuses on Formula1 Grand Prix events, analyzing races in cities like Monaco, Singapore, and other urban F1 hosts. The study compares the benefits and challenges that arise from these events, as well as their impacts on the city, the economy, society and the environment. Overall, the research draws conclusions about the significance of these events and the long-term legacy they leave in host cities.
