This thesis explores the conceptualization and design of an Experiential Earthquake Museum on the island of Kos. The museum embodies an informative, pedagogical, and immersive character. The architectural composition is structured around two principal volumes: a central cube, which has been subject to deliberate morphological distortions, and a peripheral envelope that encases it, accommodating the ancillary and support functions. The central volume, which serves as the core of the spatial narrative, is bifurcated into northern and southern segments. These segments intersect solely at the ground level and at the uppermost floor, where the seismic simulator is situated. The ascent — symbolizing the prelude to a seismic event — comprises functions and exhibits addressing the preparatory and anticipatory aspects of earthquakes. In contrast, the descent through the southern segment focuses on the aftermath: destruction, recovery, and the cultivation of collective memory. The user’s experience is articulated both through the curated narrative trajectory and the expressive architectural language of the building itself.
