This thesis focuses on the redesign of an urban void in the Sepolia area. Sepolia is one of the earliest neighborhoods of Athens to receive large waves of migrants and gradually transformed from a rural area with olive groves into a densely built urban environment, where infrastructure and open public spaces significantly diminished. Today, the site under study is primarily used for metro train parking, constituting an inactive void within the urban fabric. The existing railway lines and the shelter housing the trains play a central role in the design, preserved as carriers of memory. The proposal aims to create a public park combined with a cultural center roof. The two components do not function competitively; on the contrary, they complement each other, forming a unified network of experiences. The park supports relaxation and contact with nature, while the cultural roof provides a stable reference axis that strengthens the social and collective identity of the area. Together, they symbolize unity and remind visitors of the neighborhood’s close relationship with migration. The park’s pathways follow the railway alignments, leading to a series of “stops” for greenery, rest, and social activity.
