The Marine Life Research Center is located in the area of Ombrosgialos, in Apokoronas, Chania. It consists of a composition of three underground buildings that combine functionality in relation to the diving park with respect for the environment and the landscape. The entire composition covers an area of 1,280 square meters and is structured into three zones. The first zone houses the research facilities and the main entrance to the building, consisting of the reception area, two multipurpose spaces, and their auxiliary rooms. The second zone accommodates the communal areas, such as the restaurant-bar, the offices of the directors and organizers, a conference and lecture preparation room, as well as the kitchen. It also includes a variety of both small and large recreational spaces, along with multiple access points. Finally, the third and relatively more secluded zone contains the guest accommodation rooms for visitors.
