| Content Summary | Η ερευνητική εργασία εξετάζει σε βάθος την παραδοσιακή αρχιτεκτονική και την ιστορική εξέλιξη του ημιορεινού οικισμού Κομιτάδες στα Σφακιά, Κρήτης. Μέσα από ιστορική, γεωγραφική και ανθρωπολογική προσέγγιση, αναλύεται πώς το φυσικό περιβάλλον, η τοπική ιστορία και οι κοινωνικές δομές διαμόρφωσαν την ταυτότητα του τόπου. Η μελέτη βασίστηκε σε εκτεταμένη επιτόπια έρευνα, χαρτογραφήσεις, αποτυπώσεις και συνεντεύξεις με κατοίκους. Εξετάζονται η χωρική διάταξη και η οικιστική οργάνωση, οι σχέσεις κτισμάτων και ελεύθερων χώρων, καθώς και η τυπολογία και μορφολογία των κατοικιών, με έμφαση στη χρήση τοπικών υλικών και την προσαρμογή στο κλίμα και το ανάγλυφο. Παράλληλα, γίνεται ανάλυση της ιστορικής εξέλιξης του οικισμού, της πολιτισμικής ταυτότητας των κατοίκων και της σχέσης τους με το φυσικό τοπίο, ενώ καταγράφονται και αξιολογούνται τα μνημεία, η εκκλησιαστική αρχιτεκτονική και οι ιδιαίτερες κατασκευαστικές τεχνικές. Στόχος της εργασίας είναι η ανάδειξη της απλότητας και της αυθεντικότητας της σφακιανής αρχιτεκτονικής ως αναπόσπαστου μέρους της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς της Κρήτης, αναδεικνύοντας τον «τριαδικό κανόνα» ανθρώπου–τόπου–αρχιτεκτονικής που χαρακτηρίζει τόσο ξεκάθαρα τις οικιστικές εγκαταστάσεις της υπαίθρου. | el |
| Content Summary | The research project examines in depth the traditional architecture and historical evolution of the semi-mountainous settlement of Komitades in Sfakia, Crete. Through a historical, geographical, and anthropological approach, it analyzes how the natural environment, local history, and social structures have shaped the identity of the place. The study was based on extensive fieldwork, mapping, surveys, and interviews with residents, while also making use of technologies such as drones and geodetic stations. It investigates the spatial layout and settlement organization, the relationships between buildings and open spaces, as well as the typology and morphology of the houses, with an emphasis on the use of local materials and adaptation to the climate and terrain. At the same time, it provides an analysis of the historical development of the settlement, the cultural identity of its inhabitants, and their relationship with the natural landscape, while recording and evaluating monuments, ecclesiastical architecture, and distinctive construction techniques. The aim of the study is to highlight the simplicity and authenticity of Sfakian architecture as an integral part of Crete’s cultural heritage, bringing to the forefront the “triadic principle” of human–place–architecture, which so clearly characterizes rural settlements and has defined Komitades for centuries. | en |
