Summary

Simulation of a CO2 injection project was conducted for the Prinos oil reservoirs. The change in seismic response of the reservoir layers, with the fluid substitution in the pore space of the formations, is tried to be detected by time-lapse seismic monitoring method. Synthetic seismic data are produced for the purpose of the study by a finite- difference algorithm of wave propagation. The seismic data before and after the injection of CO2 are being processed with seismic processing algorithms in Matlab. The difference of the derived seismic sections is the result of the time-lapse study, the interpretation of which reveals the variations in the properties of the reservoir.
