A geological and geophysical study was conductedat the area of Stylos, Hania in order tostudy the possible mechanisms of saltwater contamination.A new detailed geologic map inscale 1:5,000 was combined with the results of atime lapse geophysical survey using seismic andelectrical methods. A fault system in the N-NEdirection possibly favors the saltwater intrusion.
