Summary

During the last two decades, the Building EnergyManagement Systems (BEMS) showed asystematic development in Greek market. Manyfactors affect the BEMS’ penetration into theGreek market. Among others, the most importantare the increment of private building constructionactivity and the establishment of arelevant legal framework to comply with therespective European one. The aim of this paperis to present the development of BEMS’ marketin Greece and the legal framework that shouldcomply with the European Directive regardingthe energy performance of the buildings. Thelatter is expected to play an important role inspeeding-up the penetration of the BEMS in theGreek market.
