Summary

The article discusses a conceptual model targeted to assisting companies in developingcriteria to assess and continuously improve Supply Chain Processes. Model formulation isachieved via the conjunction of key generic areas of concern with core processes for supplychain effectiveness. Model is referred as SCQT – Supply Chain Quality Tool. Motivationunderlying SCQT development is discussed and links with the Business Excellence Model areidentified. The article concludes with a proposal on applying SCQT in practice and by listingareas for further research on the subject.
