Summary

This paper aims to discuss engineering aspects for an agentbasedambient assisted living system for the home environment. Thespecial requirements of our system are to provide a platform with costeffectivespecialized assisted living services for the elderly people havingcognitive problems, which will significantly improve the quality of theirhome life, extend its duration and at the same time reinforce social networking.The proposed architecture is based on an agent platform withspecialized agents that can cooperate in order to service users with morethan one type of problems.
