Summary

We have developed a new family of doubly promoted catalysts based on Pd, which were found to besignificantly active and selective for lean NOx reduction by CO+H2. In particular we found that Pdsupported on TiO2-modified Al2O3 support is more active and selective than the Pd/Al2O3 catalysts, indicating a pronounced synergy between TiO2 and Al2O3. This support-mediated promotion wasfound to be further enhanced when these catalysts were additionally modified by an electropositivesurface promoter, such as potassium. The resulted benefits with the optimal doubly promotedcatalyst were very high de-NOx efficiency (~85% NOx conversion) accompanied with very goodN2-selectivities (~85%), i.e., 15-30 additional percentage units in comparison to the selectivity of theoriginal Pd/Al2O3 catalyst
