Content SummaryUrban ecological properties are determined, in the maximum degree, from the land uses that are allocated and functionally activated in the urban tissue. The intensity of Land Uses activation in city’s total is realised and evented via circulatory flows that activate and are activated from the simultaneous daily coordinated co-function of all land uses. The co-ordination and co-activation of all activities influence the intensity of circulatory flows that then shape the city’s ecological status. Each Urban system shapes its ecological status with attributes that are characterized by its ability to minimise energy’s consumption and pollutants emission. This is achieved by configurating Urban forms that: A. achieve high degree’s accessibility without the corresponding mobility increase, B. cover the ground insufficiency for city’s needs in its centres C. continuously recompose land uses for the achievement of local and central services aiming to city’s journeys minimisation. The investigation of this aspect of Ecological Urban Planning theory, will result from the correlation and the creation of circulatory flows concerning land uses that cause them. We will investigate as case study, the metropolitan centre of Attica’s basin that assembles the functions majority in the Attica’s basin. Regarding the examined time period, we will use data from the 1988 and 1991 census. This period is selected, because by that time the land uses categories and their allocation in the municipality had not yet been enacted. We choose this period as our aim is to investigate city’s configuration under the exclusive influence of market forces.en
