In this thesis, we implemented a fully functional Flight Simulator, utilizing the latest technology on the fields of Virtual Reality and Hand-tracking. Specifically, the user-pilot has the ability to simulate a real flight, inside of a replica cockpit of one of the world’s most famous passenger jets. The simulation takes place at Athens International Airport, and the airspace above it. Furthermore, the user can interact with the cockpit in real time with his own hands, dramatically increasing the level of immersion and realism. Finally, the user receives haptic-feedback upon touching buttons and switches.
