The latest revision of the European Union’s (EU) Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) brought changes both in the decision-making process but also to the actions imposed by it. In parallel with the CAP, EU's goal is to halt the loss of agrobiodiversity and maintain it at the highest level possible. This thesis presents the reformed CΑP, the main points, the objectives and the modifications it introduces. Furthermore, the current international legal framework in being analyzed concerning the biodiversity and agrobiodiversity, in order to make clear the foundations on which the new CAP was based. Finally, the corresponding EU law is being critically approached via deepening into the objectives, legislation and the EU Strategy. Thus, having a more clear idea of the way that the EU sets out the Common Agricultural Policy and the agrobiodiversity preservation, it is questioned whether this way has a common course, whether this course diverges or converges.
