Content SummaryCivilization is a very recent event in Earth’s existence. It became a reality, among others, through a combination of Darwinian individual and group competition. Narratives of both types of competition can be found in myths and stories in various sources including the Bible. If the time span from the appearance of the Earth 4.6 billion years ago to the present is equivalent to one year, then the Genus Homo which is 2 million years old appeared at 20:00 h, December 31. Homo sapiens (60,000 yrs ago), appeared 7 min before midnight and civilization (10,000 yrs ago), just 69 s before midnight.en
