| Content Summary | Ο οικισμός της Σούδας με το λιμάνι του, αποτελεί σημαντικό κέντρο άφιξης και αναχώρησης επισκεπτών για την πόλη των Χανίων. Το λιμάνι της Σούδας αναπτύσσει και εμπορική δραστηριότητα, η οποία συνδέεται άμεσα με τη βιομηχανική ζώνη της Σούδας, τους ''Μύλους Κρήτης'', εργοστάσιο παραγωγής αλεύρων, που ιδρύθηκε στην περιοχή το 1928. Το παραλιακό μέτωπο εκτείνεται βόρεια του οικισμού και περιλαμβάνει στο δυτικό τμήμα του το μικρό λιμανάκι (ιχθυόσκαλα) και στο ανατολικό τμήμα του το εμπορικό - επιβατικό λιμάνι, ενώ στο ενδιάμεσο παρεμβάλλεται ελεύθερος χώρος με φύτευση. Στην παραλιακή ζώνη, εκτείνεται η λεωφόρος Σούδας, που αποτελεί κεντρικό οδικό άξονα και ισχυρό όριο μεταξύ παραλιακού μετώπου και οικισμού. Ωστόσο, ο δημόσιος χώρος στην υφιστάμενη κατάστασή του, παραμένει υπολειμματικός και κατακερματισμένος, καθώς οι επιμέρους χωρικές ενότητές που τον αποτελούν δε συνδέονται επαρκώς μεταξύ τους, ενώ υπάρχει και ζήτημα σύνδεσης του παραλιακού μετώπου με την πόλη. Στο πλαίσιο της παρούσας μεταπτυχιακής διπλωματικής εργασίας επιχειρείται ο επανασχεδιασμός του παραλιακού μετώπου, από την περιοχή της ''Κάτω Σούδας'' μέχρι την πλατεία του οικισμού και το λιμάνι, με άξονα το τοπίο και το δημόσιο χώρο και με στόχο την ενοποίηση του και τη σύνδεση του με τον οικισμό, ώστε να αποτελέσει έναν ισχυρό πυρήνα δημόσιων δραστηριοτήτων και προσέλκυσης των επισκεπτών - τουριστών αλλά και των κατοίκων της περιοχής. | el |
| Content Summary | The settlement of Souda with its port, is an important center of arrival and departure of visitors for the city of Chania. The port of Souda is also engaged in commercial activity, which is directly connected to the industrial zone of Souda, the "Mills of Crete", a flour factory, which was founded in the area in 1928. The waterfront extends north of the settlement and includes, at its western part the small port and at its eastern part the commercial - passenger port, while in the middle there is public space with vegetation. Parallel to the coastal zone, is the main road of Souda, which is a strong boundary between the waterfront and the settlement. However, the public space at its current state, remains residual and fragmented, as the individual parts that make it up are not sufficiently connected to each other, while there is also the issue of connecting the waterfront with the city. The aim of this dissertation is the redesign of the waterfront from the area of "Kato Souda" to the settlement main square and the port, focusing on the landscape and the public space and with the aim of its unification and its connection with the settlement, in order to form a strong nucleus of public activities and attract visitors - tourists and residents of the area. | en |
