Lately we are moving as a society into a smarter and more reliable electricity management system. It is very interesting to observe, analyse and be prepared for this new era of electricity distribution, that comes as a result from the increased integration of renewable energy sources. The new trend that promises to help in this advanced problems caused by this integration, is described by the microgrid development and therefore, their analysis is fundemental. Their form, the way they work and their overal safety including their stability over disturbances, are some of the characteristics that need to be taken into account for their optimal operation. The current thesis describes a microgrid dynamic analysis with Simulink- Matlab. In other words, it contains the problems that are mentioned above and it tries to descibe a system like this in a way that will be easily understood by everyone. The overall system is based on a simple microgrid which contains photovoltaic arrays integrated with a storage system based on Lithium Batteries, a permanent magnet technology in wind power generator and a diesel based synchronous generator. The results are shown, with the whole system working in order to cover the requested energy consumption.
