Milk is a rich in vitamins and minerals food and at the same time it is a basic resource for one of the most profitable economical activities, dairy plants. Since birth every mammal is fed strictly with milk for some time. This means tha it is its only and most valiable food resource for its growth. Humanity since the ancient times have understand the meaning of milk and for that reason humanity have tamed mammals through its own evolution in order to have milk as a food resource. Through time humanity realised that milk could be used as as a base ingredient for production of several other more nutrisious, and different products depending on its source and the procedure being used. This is why today we have such a variety of dairy products. Dairy products have a great impact on the environment through their process of production. Humanity through the years have understood how precious environment is for its survival. By using knowledge and technology and abstract thinking and through time humanity have found ways of treating the wastewater of dairy plants by using systems of physical, chemical and biological processes. In order to keep evolving the ways of treating such wastes we had to come up with ways of evaluating the results of existing processes. This is the main cause of this papper, through the use of mathematical means we can evaluate the efficiency of the system of wastewater treatment of dairy plant at one of the most succeful dairy industries “ Hellenic Dairy “.
