| Content Summary | Η έρευνα εστιάστηκε στο νοτιοδυτικό τμήμα της Μυκόνου, το οποίο μέχρι σήμερα παρουσιάζει την μεγαλύτερη ανάπτυξη. Μέσα από την μελέτη βιβλιογραφικών πηγών και χαρτών παρουσιάζεται η ιστορική εξέλιξη του νησιού με έμφαση στο διάστημα από τα τέλη του 19ου, οπότε εμφανίστηκαν οι πρώτοι επισκέπτες, έως σήμερα. Αναλύονται ανά δεκαετία οι εποχές της απαρχής του τουρισμού στη Μύκονο και της έξαρσής του, και των μεγάλων έργων και επενδύσεων για την ικανοποίηση των αναγκών που προέκυπταν. Γίνεται αναφορά στους παράγοντες που έπαιξαν σημαντικό ρόλο στην τουριστική ανάπτυξη του τόπου, όπως το παλιό αλλά και το νέο λιμάνι και το αεροδρόμιο, οι πρώτες ξενοδοχειακές μονάδες, καθώς και στο πως επηρεάστηκε τόσο το αστικό και φυσικό τοπίο του νησιού όσο και η ζωή των κατοίκων. Στη συνέχεια γίνεται μια εκτενής καταγραφή των περιοχών του νοτιοδυτικού τμήματος που παρουσιάζουν τη μεγαλύτερη ανάπτυξη, καταλήγοντας στη σημερινή παρακμάζουσα εικόνα του τοπίου του νησιού. Τέλος, γίνεται μια εξέταση της διαχρονικής εξέλιξης της χωρικής ανάπτυξης των υποδομών τουρισμού μέσα από συγκριτικές φωτογραφίες από χαρακτηριστικά σημεία του νησιού, τραβηγμένες με απόσταση μερικών δεκαετιών. Συμπερασματικά, γίνεται μια προσπάθεια απάντησης των ερωτημάτων που τέθηκαν κατά την έρευνα, με σκοπό να διευκρινιστούν οι παράγοντες που επηρέασαν την τόσο έντονη τουριστική ανάπτυξη της Μυκόνου, τα στοιχεία που την επέτρεψαν και να δοθεί μια τυπολογία της πολεοδομικής ανάπτυξης λόγω τουρισμού. | el |
| Content Summary | The research focused on the south-western part of Mykonos, which has been the most developed area to date. Through the study of bibliographical sources and maps, the historical development of the island is presented with emphasis on the period from the end of the 19th century, when the first visitors appeared, until today. It analyses, decade by decade, the times of the beginning of tourism in Mykonos and its expansion, and the major projects and investments to meet the needs that arose. Reference is made to the factors that played an important role in the development of tourism in the area, such as the old and the new port and the airport, the first hotel units, as well as how both the urban and natural landscape of the island and the life of its inhabitants were affected. Then there is an extensive survey of the most developed areas of the southwestern part of the island, resulting in the current decaying landscape of the island. Finally, an examination of the evolution of the spatial development of tourism infrastructure over time is made through comparative photographs of characteristic points of the island, taken from a distance of several decades. In conclusion, an attempt is made to answer the questions posed during the research, in order to clarify the factors that influenced the intense tourist development of Mykonos, the elements that allowed it and to give a typology of urban development due to tourism. | en |
