| Content Summary | On 15 November 2006, Crescent City was struck by a mod -erate tsunami that caused significant financial losses. Tis was the first significant tsunami loss on U.S. territory since the 1964 Alaska tsunami. All of the damage occurred more than six hours aer alerts had been canceled by WCATWC.
