Content SummaryThis paper develops a robust active control approach with parametric uncertainties in smart structures. Large amplitudes and attenuating vibration periods result in fatigue, instability, and poor structural performance. In light of past research in this field, this paper intends to discuss some innovative approaches in vibration control of smart structures, particularly in the case of structures with embedded piezoelectric materials. More advanced theories for control strategies are presented, such as robust control theory and uncertainty modeling. The resulting approach to robust control may be applied for the analysis and design of practical smart structures.en
