| Περίληψη | An absolute sea-level monitoring and altimeter calibration permanent facility has been established on the island of Gavdos, Crete, Greece. The facility has been selected for various reasons, in particular because it is under a crossing point of the ground tracks of TOPEX/Poseidon and Jason-1, and adjacent to an ENVISAT pass. The island is also far from the mainland at a location where tides are small. | en |
