Content SummaryiZen is a federated master-less IoT eco-system comprising of independent and equipotent IoT systems (nodes) on a network interacting with each other. iZen is designed to offer security, scalability and high availability services to organizations willing to share information with other organizations for a common objective (e.g. local weather stations ally together to create weather forecasts for the whole country). The advantages of this topology are many, the most important of all being that, information of each node remains under the control of the owner of the node. Access to a node is granted only to authorized users (or services) of the same or other nodes based on user roles and access policies. Leveraging principles of Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), each iZen node is implemented as a composition of RESTful micro-services in the cloud. The experimental analysis shows that iZen responds in real-time to complex service requests under heavy workloads.en
