| Content Summary | Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία έχει ως στόχο την δημιουργία Νέας Δημοτικής και παιδικής βιβλιοθήκης για τον Δήμο Χανιών. Συγκεκριμένα, η νέα βιβλιοθήκη τοποθετείται στην δημοτική ενότητα του αγίου Ιωάννη στα Χανιά ανάμεσα στην περιοχή των Δικαστηρίων Χανίων και στο τέως στρατόπεδο Μαρκοπούλου. Το οικόπεδο επέμβασης βλέπει ως κύριο δρόμο την οδό Γιαμπουδάκη και μέχρι πρότινος αποτελούσε ανεκμετάλλευτο πάρκο γειτονιάς. Όμορο της περιοχής επέμβασης είναι το 8ο δημοτικό σχολείο και 4ο νηπιαγωγείο χανιών. Αξιοσημείωτο γεγονός αποτελεί ότι δεν υπήρχε καμία άμεση πρόσβαση από το σχολείο προς το πάρκο ούτε και προοπτική εκμετάλλευσής του για χρήσεις του σχολείου. Για τον σχεδιασμό της νέας δημοτικής βιβλιοθήκης προτείνεται η επέκταση του σχολείου και η ενοποίηση του με τον χώρο της παιδικής βιβλιοθήκης και την άμεση σύνδεση αυτών. Η τοποθέτηση της δημοτικής βιβλιοθήκης στην περιοχή αυτή αποσκοπεί στον εμπλουτισμό των πολιτιστικών χρήσεων και ενίσχυση ενός από τους πυρήνες της πόλης δηλαδή την περιοχή των δικαστηρίων και το τέως στρατόπεδο Μαρκοπούλου. | el |
| Content Summary | This thesis aims to create a new municipal and children's library for the Municipality of Chania. Specifically, the new library is located in the municipal unit of Agios Ioannis in Chania between the area of the Chania Courts and the former camp of Markopoulou. The intervention plot faces the main road Yamboudaki Street and until recently was an unused neighborhood park. Bordering the intervention area is the 8th primary school and 4th kindergarten of Chania. It is notable that there was no direct access from the school to the park and no prospect of its exploitation for school purposes. For the design of the new public library it is proposed to extend the school and integrate it with the children's library area and directly connect them. The placement of the public library in this area is intended to enrich the cultural uses and strengthen one of the city's cores namely the area of the courts and the former Markopoulou camp. | en |
