The present study is focused on the mechanical stress analysis of a two-wheeled motorcycle front suspension system. The main scope is to redesign specific parts, towards an improved version of the system, considering lower weight and adequate stiffness. Initially, each component is designed separately using a 3D-design software (CAD) and an assembly of the system is developed. As a next step, an advanced Computer Aided Engineering software (CAE) is used to apply forces to the system. Through simulation, the results of stress and displacement at each part of the system are demonstrated and evaluated. Based on the results, some specific components will be modified aiming to reduce their weight without affecting the stiffness. According to the results of the redesign process, the possibility of performing a topology optimization method in the finite element simulations will be considered. As a last step, the manufacturing feasibility of the final components will be evaluated.
