Summary

The process of evaluating employee performance is now a priority for both private and public companies and organizations. This is due to its critical role in assessing whether employees are meeting job requirements. The objective is to identify employees' strengths and weaknesses to provide them with necessary guidance for future performance improvement, while also addressing areas of low performance. This evaluation should align with the company's strategic goals, requiring the use of analytical methods such as the Balanced Scorecard to effectively determine performance criteria. This thesis examines the case of a fish farming company, aiming to design a system for evaluating employee performance within a specific unit of the company. Initially, a historical review of employee performance appraisal will be conducted, exploring its relationship with human resource planning and job analysis, essential prerequisites for designing an appraisal system. Additionally, the impact of performance evaluation on employees will be addressed. Subsequently, various performance evaluation methods will be presented, along with potential errors during their application. The Balanced Scorecard method and its application will be discussed. A detailed analysis of the company will follow, including attempts to apply the Balanced Scorecard method. Finally, the results of data collection and job analysis will be presented to define appropriate performance standards and develop an evaluation system aligned with the company's strategic goals.
