Summary

Healthy eating and lifestyle have now become an integral part of our daily lives. Along with these, foods and habits that were previously unfamiliar to us have been introduced. One of these is the avocado. In this study, we will first conduct a literature review of works that examine issues related to this particular food, such as nutritional value, market demand, packaging, and standardization of avocado products. Next, we will study the evolution of avocado food demand in different regions and periods, utilizing data from online searches. Following this, we will focus on packaged avocado products and analyze sales data from a local business in Chania, aiming to understand preferences and demand in an area known for avocado cultivation. Finally, through a questionnaire, we will attempt to understand consumer preferences for packaged avocado products by analyzing factors such as price, origin, taste, and form. Through the analysis of the collected data, the study concludes with findings regarding trends and preferences surrounding the market for standardized avocado products.
