In this thesis three different optimization algorithms will be developed, which are mainly inspired by the behavior of bees in the nature and can be divided into two categories. The first one contains algorithms that are based on the foraging behavior of bees, while the second one contains algorithms that are based on the mating behavior of bees. Once the necessary adjustments are made and the parameters of the algorithms are correctly tuned, the algorithms will be tested on market segmentation problems, which belong to the NP-hard clustering problems. Simulations will be executed on artificial and real data in order to examine the practicality of the algorithms. As performance indexes we will use the value of the optimal solution as well as the time and computational cost.
