The authors study a quasilinear scalar differential equation with Neumann boundary conditions and a discontinuous right-hand side. To guarantee the existence of solutions they pass to a multivalued problem by filling in the gaps at the discontinuity points. The multivalued problem is solved using variational techniques based on the nonsmooth critical point theory.
