Continuous aerosol measurements were performed during period 2003-2005 at the Akrotiri researchmonitoring station on the island of Crete to study the ambient levels of PM10 and PM2.5. The originof the PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations on the Akrotiri station was studied using a statistical analysisof the data and back trajectory modeling. The concentration of particulate matter undergo a seasonalvariation characterized by a summer maximum
