The present paper describes the developmentand the specifications of a software package thatdelivers useful information on scientific topics,bibliography, achievements and activities relatedto the area of renewable energy sourcesand energy management. The queries and resultsare transmitted over the Internet through asimple graphical interface. The package consistsof a database designed to host this informationand a web-based software application, whichserves the dynamic content. With the proper interconnectionto the database, the latter becomesa suitable interface to satisfy user queries on thisscientific area, as faster and easier as possible.The database is designed in SQL-92.The webapplication is a fully graphical dynamic websitewhere the technology of Java Server Pages™(JSPs) is used to connect, search, and retrieveinformation from the database. In addition, JSPtechnology is used in order to transform user inputinto query language and query results into acomprehensive representation to users.
