Summary

Among the various technologies which have been proposed for production ofhydrogen, steam reforming of ethanol seems to be environmentally attractive, since ethanol canbe produced from renewable biomass [1-4]. Reformation of ethanol at low temperatures offersimproved energy balance and reduced CO concentration in the reformate gas. The catalyticperformance of Pt dispersed on Al2O3, CeO2 and ZrO2 is investigated with respect to the natureof the support and dispersion of Pt. Mechanistic aspects of the reaction are also investigated.
