| Content Summary | The objective of this Master Thesis is to discover the criteria required for a successful RPA assessment and, therefore, raise the chances for a successful implementation. This research intends to give organisations a tool to assess potential processes for automation effectively. The literature reviewed for this study is previous research of RPA as well as successful case studies. The theoretical part of the study was completed by interviewing six experts in the field. The result of this thesis is the creation of two tools that assist organisations with the selection, assessment, and prioritisation of processes for automation. The research suggests that it is crucial to conduct a process assessment before development since many RPA projects fail due to poor choice of processes. The results suggest that there are ten main criteria when evaluating a process for RPA and three criteria which in combination with some of the main criteria have an impact on the prioritisation. The Process Assessment Model is a simple but effective tool for organisations to quickly remove processes that are not ideal for automation with RPA. The Process Assessment Formula is a tool which calculates the complexity of the process as well as the value it will provide if automated to decide whether the process should be automated and categorise it in the priority table. These tools can assist organisations in deciding effectively which processes can be automated, and which are suitable for automation. Furthermore, the Process Assessment Formula can prioritise the full list of processes in order to discover which processes will provide the highest value to the organisation. | en |
| Content Summary | Στόχος αυτής της μεταπτυχιακής διατριβής είναι να ανακαλύψει τα κριτήρια που απαιτούνται για μία επιτυχή RPA αξιολόγηση και, ως εκ τούτου, να αυξηθούν οι πιθανότητες για μία επιτυχημένη εφαρμογή του RPA. Αυτή η έρευνα σκοπεύει να δώσει ένα εργαλείο για την αποτελεσματική αξιολόγηση πιθανών διεργασιών για αυτοματοποίηση. Η βιβλιογραφία που εξετάστηκε για αυτήν την εργασία είναι από προηγούμενη έρευνα στο RPA καθώς και επιτυχημένα case studies. Το θεωρητικό μέρος της μελέτης ολοκληρώθηκε με συνέντευξη έξι ειδικών στον τομέα του RPA. Το αποτέλεσμα αυτής της διατριβής είναι η δημιουργία δύο εργαλείων που βοηθούν στην επιλογή, αξιολόγηση και προτεραιότητα των διεργασιών για αυτοματοποίηση. Η έρευνα δείχνει ότι είναι υψηλής σημασίας να διεξαχθεί μια αξιολόγηση της διεργασίας πριν από την ανάπτυξη, καθώς πολλά project RPA αποτυγχάνουν λόγω κακής επιλογής διεργασιών. Τα αποτελέσματα δείχνουν ότι υπάρχουν δέκα βασικά κριτήρια κατά την αξιολόγηση μιας διεργασίας για RPA και τρία κριτήρια τα οποία σε συνδυασμό με ορισμένα από τα κύρια κριτήρια έχουν αντίκτυπο στην προτεραιότητα. Το Process Assessment Model είναι ένα απλό αλλά αποτελεσματικό εργαλείο που βοηθάει τους οργανισμούς να αφαιρούν γρήγορα διαδικασίες που δεν είναι ιδανικές για αυτοματοποίηση με RPA. To Process Assessment Formula είναι ένα εργαλείο που υπολογίζει την πολυπλοκότητα της διεργασίας καθώς και την αξία που θα παράσχει εάν αυτοματοποιηθεί ώστε μία επιχείρηση να μπορεί να αποφασίσει εάν η διεργασία θα πρέπει να αυτοματοποιηθεί και έπειτα να την κατηγοριοποιήσει στον πίνακα προτεραιότητας. Αυτά τα εργαλεία μπορούν να βοηθήσουν τους οργανισμούς να αποφασίσουν αποτελεσματικά ποιες διεργασίες μπορούν να αυτοματοποιηθούν και ποιες είναι κατάλληλες για αυτοματοποίηση.
