Summary

This thesis was implemented in collaboration with Epishine AB, which is active in the field of solar cells. More specifically, Epishine AB produces organic indoor photovoltaics through the R2R process. The reason for this thesis was the fact that the productivity of the installed production line is not desirable and the company is interested in improving it and expanding its production capacity. For this reason, the goal is to increase the level of production by the 4th half of 2021.To achieve the above goal, the company plans to increase the degree of automation of the production line and reduce the production stages which are performed manually by employees in order to reduce costs and average production time. For this reason, the production line was evaluated using the Arena Rockwell production line analysis software. Through the use of the Arena, some critical parameters of the whole process were identified, which significantly reduce the productivity of the production line. In addition, quality control was carried out on batches of organic photovoltaic devices, while small-scale cells were manufactured through the spin coating process in the company's laboratory. The last part of the dissertation summarizes the conclusions and proposals for actions that if implemented by the company will increase its profitability and therefore its profitability, while future extensions are also proposed.
