Emergency management capability considers as the most important factor to measure the capability level and to find out the problems existing in the aviation industry.This thesis research explores the area of Management of emergency situations in the aviation domain in relation with the response of the personnel are taking part, the safety of human and no human power and the decisions that need to be taken in a such dynamic environment. We will focus on the presentation of Emergency Management sector in the aviation field in order to prevent or anticipate the harmful consequences of emergency based on safety management and correctness in decision making. For a better understanding of the subject, Structured Analysis and Design Technique- SADT and Applied Cognitive Task Analysis- ACTA methods are applied. In particular the above methods will be applied in the response process of an aircraft emergency situation as this had been simulated in a peripheral airport. All data collected from the minutes of the airport management body as well as conducting interviews with the specialists.At the beginning, the structure of thesis consists of a conceptual approach to a wider range of the emergency management and the four phases of it. In a similar way, the content of Emergency Response Plan (ERP) is analyzed as it is required for every organization. Then, we focus on the Safety Management System as the main pillar of any action and decision as well as a guide of the content of ERP in every airport. After, we analyze the importance of human factor in emergency situations and on decision making in a dynamic and unpredictable environment as this of an emergency. The methods SADT and ACTA are analyzed further as well as the reasons that make their application usable in the field of crisis management. At the end, the case of study depicts all the aforementioned theory in practice and give us the step for the development of useful conclusions.
