This thesis deals with the selection of modern means of surveillance and guarding of the borders of Greece as a more effective and efficient solution in relation to today's reality. In the context of the writing, important definitions will be sited first and then a review will be given of the mass movements to Greece from 2014 until today, as well as the border guard measures by both the European Union and the Greek Government. The role of Frontex, EUROSUR, will be explained, as well as a description of important Greek plans that took place from 2012 until today. Border guard solutions based on IoT (Internet of Things) systems will be presented, then the border protection reinforcement project decided by the Greek government in 2020 will be analyzed. Finally, there will be two space conservationprojects that utilize similar equipment with the project mentioned earlier.
