The purpose of this thesis is the description and study of taxation and social security in Greece and in five other European countries as a criterion for choosing the place of establishment of a business.In more detail, are being described:• Taxation of corporations (income tax, dividend tax, other taxes)• Taxation of individual persons (income tax and other taxes)• Value Added Tax (VAT)• The property tax• Business social security contributions• Social security contributions of individual personsBesides Greece, the following countries were selected:• Bulgaria and Cyprus as in recent years they attract many Greek companies, which choose to settle there• France as it is a fully developed economy within the European Union and the Euro zone• The United Kingdom because it is a fully developed economy that from 01-01-2021 is no longer part of the European Union• Ireland since there is an economy that has several similarities with the Greek one
