The research investigates the impact of Social Media in the tourism industry. Specifically, a quantitative survey was carried out in the form of questionnaires. A total of 100 accommodations in 3, 4, 5 star categories, boutique hotels & luxury holiday homes (villas) participated, in the four prefectures of Crete.The research examines the effect of Facebook, Instagram, Viber, What's up, LinkedIn, Youtube & Tik Tok on two points, on the increase of bookings and awareness of accommodations.
